Mode 7 confirms that Frozen Synapse will surface on the App Store on May 16th
Android version coming 'soon'
We've been eagerly anticipating the iOS version of Mode 7's strategy-infused neon shooter Frozen Synapse for what seems like an absolute age.
Thankfully, that wait isn't going to go on for much longer.
After a gentle poke, Mode 7's Paul Taylor has just told us that the game will be surfacing on the App Store in just over two weeks' time. Yep, put a big red circle around May 16th in your diary. Now.
If you're unfamiliar with the game, it's a simultaneous turn-based shooter in which you guide a squad of glowing soldiers into battle across a Tron-style war zone.
In addition to working your way through Frozen Synapse's single-player campaign, you'll get to duke it out with friends and foes in an extensive multiplayer mode.
Mode 7 has tweaked the original PC version of the game for iOS, including optimising it for Apple's touchscreen devices. The dev has also integrated cross-platform play into the experience.
There's no confirmed release date for the Android edition of Frozen Synapse yet, by the way, though Taylor did assure us that the 'droid version will be going live on Google Play "soon".
The Vita version of the game, meanwhile, which is being handled by Double Eleven, is still in development and doesn't have a release date just yet.
