Plenty of headlines have been spent on Real Racing 3 over the past couple of weeks, but one start up out of its development studio seems determined to get players talking about good ol' fashioned gameplay.

Lead developers behind Firemint's SPY Mouse game, Joshua Boggs and Adrian Moore, together with Ollie Browne, have formed Melbourne outfit Loveshack Entertainment.

"Josh and I really clicked when we worked together on SPY Mouse. But we were also both finding that whilst we loved working at Firemint, we wanted to stretch our creative muscles outside of a larger company," commented Moore.

"With Ollie joining the team, we're now ready to unleash our love on the world."

Controlling order

Together the trio have been working on Framed, which they call an "innovative narrative-based puzzle game" set in a "hard-boiled noir" world for tablets and PC.

Presented as an animated storyboard and played in chapters, each panel depicts an important action or event. After watching one version of the scene unfold, players need to rearrange the order of the panels to change the outcome.

You can get the idea in the following prototype video. Ain't it neat?

Currently in pre-production, it's hoped Framed will be released in late 2013.
