Fortnite cheats and tips - Everything you need to win Getaway mode
Get in, get out, get paid
Fortnite is the game that keeps on giving - there are so many modes that they've released that they keep reintroducing, and they're all so interesting.
And the latest mode, Getaway, has to be the most interesting yet. Turning the game's basic gameplay loop on its head, Getaway will see you running to grab loot, and escape the map with a profit.

It takes two to tango
When going into Fortnite's Getaway mode, the first thing you'll notice is that it's not just a matter of running in and out by yourself, you're going to need a partner.
Like a genuine Bonnie and Clyde, you can grab the loot and escape, but you'll have to do it as a pair, so stick with your partner, and back them up whenever you can.
The best strategy will be with one of you grabbing the goods, and the other backing them up, as the carrier will move more slowly than usual.

The heist
You'll be able to see on the map as you drop where the loot will be found, and as a result, you'll be able to pretty much drop right over to it, assuming the bus goes over it.
This of course means loot further from the buses' path will have less players, and nearer ones will have many more.
Tempting though, isn't it? You can always drop as close to distant loot as possible, and use your glider immediately to get a larger amount of distance, but you might find others will beat you to it.

Stealing the loot
Ah, but what if you're not first to the loot? Well that's obvious - it's time to battle.
Luckily, or unluckily if it's you, the loot carrier will be moving slowly and will have a big shiny gem on their back, so yeah, easy to spot at least.
You can kill them immediately to steal loot for yourself, or you can wait until they get nearer to a getaway vehicle before mowing them down and making your own escape.

The getaway
Ah, finally, the end of the road. Once you've got a big jewel, head towards one of the cars on the map. Using one will allow you to escape. Nice.
Unfortunately, the cars are hovering in the air on balloons. Boo. This means you'll have to build up to them, or use a portable fort.
But if you have no loot, you can stake out getaway vehicles while waiting for players that do have loot to steal.
