Square Enix has published the 1st images of the iOS and Android version of Final Fantasy VI

Shiny sprites

Product: Final Fantasy VI (iOS & Android) | Publisher: Square Enix | Genre: Adventure, Retro, RPG
For: iPad   Also on: Android, iPhone

Square Enix has published the first screenshots for the upcoming iOS and Android version of Final Fantasy VI.

And they look pretty smooth. So smooth, in fact, that you might just slide off them and end up in a different Final Fantasy game.

Not too much of the game is shown off in these two screens, but you can see main protagonist Terra in a stompy walker machine and a big engine tower thing?

I don't know - I haven't played Final Fantasy VI.

Final Fantasy VI for mobile was supposed to come out this year, but there's not much of this year left, so it might be best not to count on that happening.

Basically, if Final Fantasy VI was going to be your main present this Christmas, you might be disappointed.

We'll let you know when we've got any more information about this iOS and Android port, or if we get any more vaguely interesting images of it.

Well, that was my Christmas present to myself. I guess I'll prepare to extend the holidays for a while into 2014. Maybe celebrate Groundhog's Day right.

I know I'm the first one to say I'm not paying for games I've already played - but this is going to be on my must purchase list. Plus I never finished it back in the day.
