Latest Final Fantasy Record Keeper update lets you break the level cap and take on tougher enemies

If, for some reason, you've been looking for something to keep you playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper, then you're in luck. Yep, it's been updated on iOS and Android.

First of all, this update lets you break the level cap so that you can further improve your characters and take on tougher foes.

There are also new Record Materia abilities so you can customise your characters in completely different ways. That's a particularly neat addition.

While that may be enough to keep some of you interested by itself, there is more to this update.

You can now earn awards by accepting quests, change the battle speed at any time (even in mid-battle), and can get info on a boss before entering the fight in case you want to tweak your party.

Oh, and there are new Roaming Warriors that let you summon friends to help you particularly tricky battles.

To celebrate this update, Square Enix and DeNa are offering free in-game Mythril currency. You can earn one Mythril per day just for logging in all this week.

Also revealed is a "Festival of Gold" in-game event that'll start on June 12th at 5:00pm PDT and will last until June 15th at 5:00pm PDT.

The UK times for that event are June 13th at 1:00am and June 16th at 1:00am. During it, you'll be able to earn rewards to make your party stronger than ever.

We gave Final Fantasy Record Keeper a Bronze Award in our review. Our reviewer said that it "will please many fans, but RPG fanatics wanting to sink their teeth into something may be taken aback by the initial lack of content available at launch."

There have been plenty of updates with extra content since that review, however, so that main gripe with it may be obsolete by now.

If you haven't already, you can download Final Fantasy Record Keeper for free on the App Store and Google Play.
