Updated on July 10th, at 6:57: FFFFF2P is now available worldwide, and the ad-dodging platformer has now appeared on Android too.

Elevate gave me a little insight into the game's meaning on Twitter. The creator said, "FFFFF2P was made from a developer's perspective of the tension and pressure to make a F2P to actually make money on the App Store".

FFFFF2P is an odd one. It's billed as a satire of free-to-play games, but it's also quite happy to take your money for upgrades and coin-doublers, or to eliminate grind.

The actual gameplay has you dodging plummeting adverts by dodging left and right in a claustrophobic, portrait-view arena. You can then hop on top of the ads to close them, which earns you money. Somehow.

The plan is to earn a million coins to see the ending - or just pay £1.99 / $2.99 to unlock it right away.

FFF2P

I'm not entirely sure if FFFFF2P is a successful satire. It's just not particularly funny or revelatory in its probing. And by emulating the exact things it rallies against (IAPs, endless grind), the game is just as toxic as its satirical targets.

Anyway. We'll have a full review soon. And you can check the game out in our PG First Play video above.

If you want to check out FFFFF2P and tell us what you think of its message, it's out on iOS, for free, at midnight tonight.
