Escape from the Pyramid

Escape from the Pyramid is a tricksy auto-running platformer with a mean streak a mile wide. It's all about reactions, combinations of taps, and not running face-first into walls made of spikes.

You tap the right of the screen to jump and the left of the screen to sprint. You'll need to combine the two to make it across bigger gaps and spike pits. There's a button that skids you to a halt and changes your direction as well.

And it's mostly fun. Except sometimes the controls don't quite work right and you end up blundering into a trap or missing a jump and sprinting back the way you came.

When the levels are as tough as the ones on show here, you need to be able to rely on your taps, and it leads to more frustration than the game can really handle.

There's a good game trying to get out here, but it gets nerfed too often by fiddly controls
