Happy Easter, Merry Eggmas, and a Chirpy Chocday to you all. We hope you have something fulfilling planned for this coming weekend. Or just filling, if your plan is to binge on chocolate.

Us? We're probably going to be playing a bunch of mobile games at some point or other. It's kind of what we do, and it also fills the flat moments during those family visits so very well.

Of course, this is one of those times of year where developers add a bunch of content (both explicitly festive and otherwise) to their mobile games, so there should be plenty of fresh stuff to discover.

Here's a round up of some that we've spotted. Seen any other noteworthy Easter updates? Please do share in the comments below.

Minecraft: Pocket Edition

Everyone loves Minecraft, right? Actually, I'm pretty indifferent to it, but I appreciate that I'm both old and lazy - two surefire indicators that Mojang's massive game isn't for me.

For all you young go-getters out there, Minecraft: Pocket Edition version 1.0.6 - aka the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack - adds a bunch of Eastern-themed content. Think cherry blossoms, pandas, dragons, and white actors indulging in some casual cultural appropriation. Plus 26 new skins and a stack of new textures.

Creature Quest

Casual RPG Creature Quest has received a massive update. This includes new abilities, prizes, and more critters to catch. The latter includes the mystical Jade Dragon and a new legendary class monster, Fallen Angel.

Meanwhile, the game's popular Battle Tower has been completely overhauled and global leaderboards have been added. Dungeon Challenge mode has also been improved with a new Bronze, Silver, and Gold tier system.

Digby Forever

This charming riff on the Dig Dug template made us smile when it launched a couple of months ago with its simple one-button gem-collecting gameplay.

Now its Easter update adds new trails, a new 'Wheel of Awesome,' new Uber cards, new daily missions, and of course new Easter characters and themes. We can dig that.

Angry Birds Blast

If you always thought Angry Birds and Candy Crush Saga should meet up and get it together, well, you're a bit weird. But you'll like Angry Birds Blast, an avian-themed match-stuff puzzler. Rovio has added an Egg Hunt just for Easter - and this time those eggs are chocolatey.

Tiny Gladiators

Boombit's colourful casual RPG brawler has been given a new Inferno Update. This includes 30 new levels, two new bosses, a new arena, an extended storyline, and 1v2 fights.

Titan Brawl

Omnidrone's stripped back MOBA is a commendable effort at translating the genre for mobile. Version 2.2 adds new collectibles and rewards, with the top 500 brawlers and the top 200 clans set to be honoured at the end of each season. Healers have also received a bit boost.

He-Man Tappers of Grayskull

By the power of egg shell! Animoca's tapping RPG has you tapping, swiping, and gesturing to unleash mighty attacks - and that includes summoning the likes of Battle Cat, She-Ra, and Man-At-Arms.

To celebrate Easter, the developer has hidden eggs around the game world. It's no yolk.

Plague Inc.

Nndemic Creations's slick - or should that be sick? - strategy game is as infectious as ever, as you seek to wipe out as much of humanity as possible with deadly viruses.

The game has just mutated with a massive Scenario Creator Update, which lets you play thousands of new custom scenarios made by other players.

WordBrain

MAG Interactive has hidden a bunch of Easter Eggs in its new seasonal puzzle for WordBrain. If you're partial to a solid word jumble game - and who isn't on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend? - then check it out.

The LEGO Batman Movie Game

The game of the movie of the toy of the comic book character gets a second wind with this spring update, which adds new Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze boss battles, new vehicle parts, new level designs, and generally more stuff.

Fruit Ninja

It's always nice to see golden oldie getting continued support years after its initial release. And they don't come much older (in mobile game terms) than Fruit Ninja.

This Easter update adds a new event, which asks you to slice the falling eggs for bonus tokens. There's also a new Fruit Decorator Blade, and an easter egg surprise.

Draw Something

Remember Draw Something? OMGPOP's once-massive social Pictionary game is still going, and this new Easter update adds an Easter egg hunt. How exciting!

Little Lords of Twilight

Bkom's PvP turn-based scrapper adds prize-giving Dragon Eggs that can be opened after each match, as well as the ability to play as an Easter Teddy. Awwww.

Plants vs. Zombies Heroes

PopCap's lane-running card battler gets a new Daily Challenges mode this Easter. This means that you can "Earn big rewards with handcrafted battles and fresh twists each day," with even better rewards when you complete multiple challenges throughout the week.

Bloons TD 5 HD

Want to play some bright, bouncy, simplified tower defence like it's 2009? Of course you do! Bloons TD 5 HD still has you covered - and now it comes with a brand new spring-themed Rabbit Holes track.
