Stop piranhas eating your privates in Dumb Ways to Die for Android and iOS

In November 2012, Metro Trains Melbourne released a catchy song on YouTube to help raise safety awareness about trains.

This 'Dumb Ways to Die' ditty featured cute characters dying in a variety of stupid and comical ways.

Lo and behold, it was a huge hit. Since its release, in fact, the video has been viewed over 59 million times.

Now, though, Metro Trains Melbourne has taken the campaign one step further, and released an app to accompany the video.

With this app version of Dumb Ways to Die, Metro Trains Melbourne draws inspiration from the likes of WarioWare and Frobisher Says. Each mini-game lasts a few seconds and ultimately tests the player's reaction time.

In one mini-game, for example, you poke a bear with a stick, then tap at just the right time to avoid getting your character's head chomped off. In another, you remove a fork from a toaster while avoiding electrocution.

It's a fun little collection of games, and fans of Nintendo's WarioWare series will feel at home as they contend with ever-increasing speeds in the hope of unlocking more mini-games.

Dumb Ways to Die is available to download now for free from the App Store and Google Play.
