Dragon Quest IV will be getting a Western release on iOS if Squeenix's Gamescom schedule is anything to go by

It looks like Dragon Quest IV is set to get a Western iOS release after Square Enix revealed an English translation of the game is going to appear on its stand at Gamescom in Germany next month.

The port is based on the DS version of the game, rather than the original NES version. We actually reviewed the DS port, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, and gave it a shiny Silver Award. That DS version was actually a tweaking of a PSOne port that only ever came out in Japan.

We don't have an official release date for the game yet, but as soon as we hear anything we'll be sure to shout it at you in the street. Or put it on the site. One of the two.

Hopefully one of our intrepid Gamescom reporters will be able to get some hands-on time with the game while they're in Cologne, so keep your eyes on the site to make sure you don't miss it.
