Doodle Blast! was one of those iPhone games that managed to pull off the sketchy doodle style with some sort of aplomb, despite its frantic and inky monotone graphics.

I'm not sure whether it's the sort of game that will scale well on iPad though.

On iPhone and iPod touch, there was never so much going on onscreen that you got too confused. After all, the basic point of the game is to collect gun turrets and shoot things.

Looking at the iPad screens however - and while certainly impressive in terms of the detail - perhaps the high-resolution, enhanced and remastered version might provide a little too much "AWESOME DESTRUCTION".

Maybe the smart zoom dynamic camera that allows you to focus in on the most intense action will help?

Other features added to the iPad version include the starry night romantic sky backdrop, and less romantically, a new enemy, the stratospheric kamikaze.

Doodle Blast! HD was submitted for Apple's approval before the 27th March deadline, so we should find out how it plays come 3rd April.
