Klei has been investigating Don't Starve for iOS and Android and says it 'might work'

None of Don't Starve's, million plus players are playing on iOS or Android. That's because Don't Starve isn't available on mobile or tablets, unfortunately.

However, that could soon change.

Speaking to Edge, Klei's Corey Rollins revealed that bringing Don't Starve to PS Plus last week has strengthened the studio more than ever. That's what tipped the player base over the million mark.

As a result of this, Klei has new-found confidence for the future, and is looking into bringing Don't Starve to more platforms. Good news for us all, then.

The first platform that Rollins mentions is the Vita. We've already mentioned that Klei has an interest in bringing Don't Starve to Vita, but now it seems even more likely.

"Currently, a lot of people play Don't Starve: Console Edition using the PS4's remote play, and really enjoy it," Rollins revealed. "So we're looking into a proper Vita release."

Rollins then talked about the possibility of Don't Starve coming to iOS and Android. It turns out that it's not out of the question. Not at all.

"As for iOS and mobile, that is something we've also been investigating and we think might work, but it’s not at the front of our development priorities right now. It’s still on our radar, though."

It seems like it's worth getting our hopes up for Don't Starve on not just Vita, then, but also iOS and Android (perhaps other mobile platforms, too).
