To describe Do Not Believe His Lies as just a free puzzle game on iOS wouldn't be doing it justice.
Spotted by Kotaku, Do Not Believe His Lies is one of those rare, exciting things that brings folks on the internet together.
Uploaded in July of last year, the app presents a series of riddles and puzzles that, upon solving, offer up strings of text that form a larger story.
According to the game's official website, about 40,000 people have participated in the hunt for the final answer, but no one has managed to actually solve it.
It's become a group effort at this point, spawning its own Reddit community dedicated to working through some of its more complex problems.
Based on the subreddit, it seems people are still stuck on puzzle #37. It's been eight months.
The designer of Do Not Believe His Lies, Lukasz Matablewski, told Kotaku that he made the game precisely to bring players together and collaborate on the game's puzzles.
