The free-to-play
Crimson: Steam Pirates marks the debut release from the newly created
Bungie Aerospace partnership program, set up to help mobile game studios develop their ideas into full-blown games.
But what exactly does this Bungie Aerospace involvement mean for players of
Crimson: Steam Pirates on iPad? Well, much like any
Halo game, you'll be able to track news, stats, and progress on Bungie.net.
Bloodied watersThe game itself takes place during an alternative American Civil War. You play Pirate Captain Thomas Blood, who attempts to conquer the Caribbean Sea by anticipating enemy moves and countering them successfully.
Because it's a freemium release, you'll start with eight voyages and 2 pass-and-play multiplayer scenarios. If you want more, you'll have to cough up £1.49 / $1.99 for chapter 2, entitled
Tales of Captain Blood.
Crimson: Steam Pirates is exclusive to iPad, free, and out now in New Zealand. It'll be invading international waters later today.
