Epic grand strategy battler Commander: The Great War has just been released on iPad, so if you've ever fancied turning your hand at commanding giant armies across historically accurate battlefields, this is your big chance.

The game takes place on hex-based maps, and there are five Grand Campaigns for you to play through. You can customise your units, research new ways to kill, and create new technologies to help the war effort.

On top of that there's a new control scheme designed for touchscreen devices, and cross-platform multiplayer too. Show those mouse and keyboard wielding PC scum bags who's the best at doing the strategies.

The game is out right now on the App Store, but it's not cheap. It'll set you back £13.99 / $19.99 if you want to give it a go.
