Civilization Revolution 2 has no multiplayer, will cost £10.49, and will launch with no IAPs
Rise to the top
It was recently announced that Civilization Revolution 2 will be coming to iOS on July 2nd, and Android shortly after.
The only information we had on it at the time was from 2K. It claimed that the game was better looking than the original, and had better controls.
Luckily Rob Rich, over at our sister site 148Apps, was able to get some hands-on time with Civilization Revolution 2. He reveals a few more details that 2K didn't.
The first big bit of information is that there is no multiplayer at all. Mind you, the multiplayer available in the DS version of Civilization Revolution was cut in the mobile version, too.
This means that 2K has entirely focused on the single player experience.
"New maps, wonders, special scenarios, and technologies like Modern Warfare and Information Technology are available, as well as two new leaders (JFK and Churchill) that can be unlocked," Rich reports.
As to what 2K claimed, Rich confirms that the graphics are a major improvement.
He also says that the controls are "significantly improved" over the original. There's also an additional End Turn switch that you pull across a slider to activate.
The last tidbits are that Civilization Revolution 2 will cost £10.49 / $14.99 when it arrives on Wednesday for iOS. We're told that there will be no IAPs at launch, too.
