K-POP stars invade the App Store in the first ever movie / game crossover title Cinema Game: RAGE

Most gamers will know how it feels to get frustrated when watching movies, due to the fact you can't interact with them. It's no fun being a passive observer.

Well, step forward SYOBE Creative, the Korean content creation company, which has created the first ever movie / game crossover.

The game is called Cinema Game: RAGE and features a mixed group of popular and famous Korean actors, K-POP stars, and promising Korean acting debutants.

Recognisable acting credits are Jeong Eun-Chae, Lee Ju-Seung, and Lee Ki-Young as well as K-POP stars Seo Kang-Joon and Gong Myung of the group 5urprise and Nara of Hello Venus.

How it plays is essentially how you would imagine an interactive movie would work.

You'll be watching a really well-shot film and will have to interact at key moments, swiping to ensure a character avoids an obstacle, deciding which way to drive a motorbike during a chase sequence, or even completing a rhythm-action segment reminiscent of Dance Dance Revolution during a fight scene.

It's all the more impressive when you realise that this is all happening on your phone.

Cinema Game: RAGE is a mystery thriller featuring a pair of brothers, one a university student and the other a miserable blogger with the gift of seeing the future.

When his brother ends up disappearing it's up to Gio, the student, to piece together the events that lead to his brother's disappearance.

Once you've played Cinema Game: RAGE, it's difficult to explain why this hasn't happened before. Yes, we've seen games that are practically interactive movies (Telltale's many efforts for example) but rare is it to see an actual movie that's also a game.

It was made possible by SYOBE Creative integrating its full motion video and action streaming video technologies, as well as the patent pending pattern processing technology that was used to process the user interface and streaming videos.

Cinema Game: RAGE is available now on Google Play [download] and App Store [download].
