Chimpact 2 Family Tree is a simian tossing sequel that's out now for iPad and iPhone

Chimpact 2 Family Tree is the sequel to Bronze Award-winning monkey-tosser Chimpact. And, as you might expect, it's all about throwing a monkey around and collecting bananas. Some things never change.

This time around though there are far more accoutrements to the central ape-hurling core. There are gems to collect, powers to unlock, tyres to swing around, and a variety of other gewgaws and shiny things to try and understand.

The basic core of the game remains un-prodded. You twang your monkey from one stretchy leaf trampoline to the next, collecting bananas and gems as you go. It's fun, in a simple sort of a way.

While the gameplay sections still look great, there's a slightly jumbled, confusing feel to the menus that makes the whole game feel a little underpolished.

Still, there's fun to be had here. And if you're the sort that likes chucking simians at trees then you'll be in your element.

Chimpact 2 Family Tree is out right now on the App Store and it'll cost you £1.49 / $1.99 to give it a go.
