Canabalt has been updated with new music by Mega Ran, 3 new playable characters, and widescreen support

The Bronze Award-winning Canabalt has been around for five years now. Despite that, it's only just got widescreen support.

That's not the coolest thing to arrive in the game's latest update, mind. That 'prestigious' title belongs to the new music.

It has lyrics spat by American rapper Mega Ran, you see. One of the tracks is called Mega Ranabalt, suitably.

There are also new playable characters. They cycle at random upon each death so you don't get to choose who you play as.

There's the iconic Canabalt guy in his original black suit, him again in a white tracksuit, and then two women. One woman wears a suit you'll be familiar with.

It might just be the tiny pixels playing tricks but the other woman looks a bit like Faith from Mirror's Edge. It probably isn't but there's nothing stopping you from pretending it is.

The update is free to everyone who already owns Canabalt on iOS right now. It hasn't rolled out on the Android version yet.

You can purchase Canabalt for £1.99 / $2.99 on the App Store [buy] and Google Play [buy].
