One of our jobs here at Pocket Gamer is to dig through the hundreds of apps that hit the App Store and Google Play every single day, and unearth those glittering gems.

Lately, though, we've been giving you the chance to have YOUR say, too. Basically, we've been giving you the opportunity to tell us your favourite game from a shortlist of the week's best releases.

This week's votes have been counted (and recounted), and we have a winner: Bridgy Jones.

Grow App's bridge-building game is all about one man and his dog.

Not in a dull metaphorical sense, though. Bridgy Jones and his mutt do actually construct bridges out of struts, track, and wire here. These bridges have to be strong enough to take the weight of your stream train, too.

To make each of the Bridgy Jones levels that little bit trickier, Grow App throws a few challenges into the mix. Sure, you can build something that spans that gap over there, but can you do it within a strict time limit or with a set number of planks?

Put simply, you'll need to think carefully and plan ahead if you want to complete all of the 128 in-game challenges.

Over the bridge

Everything in Bridgy Jones is presented in a gorgeous cartoon style, and there's a thread of anarchic humour running through the game.

At review, we said that "we've seen bridge-building games before, but they've never had such a good editor, they've never been this challenging and surprising, and they've never been this funny."

You can download Bridgy Jones from the App Store right now as a Universal app for 69p / 99c [buy].
