It's been a sweet minute since we last chatted about Brawl Stars, but it's still pottering on in its soft launch and this upcoming update is nice, simple, and gives us something to look forward to.

Though we don't know when exactly these balance changes will take effect, plenty of characters are seeing change according to Supercell's Reddit post:

  • Barley - Increased main attack projectile speed by 20%
  • Dynamike - Increased main attack and Super projectile speeds by 10%
  • Mortis - Increased health from 3500 ? 3800
  • Nita - Increased main attack damage from 680 ? 740
  • Jessie - Increased main attack damage from 720 ? 780
  • Pam - Increased main attack damage from 200 ? 220
  • Poco - Increased Star Power healing from 300 ? 400
  • Colt - Decreased main attack and Super damage from 320 ? 300
  • Crow - Decreased main attack and Super damage from 320 ? 300
  • Ricochet - Increased reload time for main attack from 1.0s ? 1.2s
  • Piper - Increased cooldown between shots from 0.25s ? 0.5s.
    • Increased damage at max range from 1560 ? 1640

There's also a new showdown map on the way created by Reddit user, TheMordeus, in this post. 'Thousand Lakes' starts eight Brawlers off in the corners of the map and two Brawlers start off more towards the centre. The idea is to get as many loot crates as possible, but the higher the reward, the higher the risk.

In keeping with mobile's current Fortnite and PUBG fever, a cloud of poison gas will eventually force players to move towards the centre island. The one who survives, wins. It's explained in more detail here.

As was said in Supercell's post, there's a little more maintenance needed before the new map can come into place, but I don't think there'll be long to wait for it.

At least we know Brawl Stars is definitely still going and looking to bring in fresh ideas. As Jon Jordan said in his column a couple of months back, we won't know the game's future for definite until Supercell launches it.
