The English version of the rather awkwardly titled BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! rhythm game is now available worldwide on iOS and Android.
The game features over forty songs, with a mix of original works and covers from different Japanese anime songs.
You collect band members through a gatcha system, unlocking the story as the band ranks up. Performing well in songs gets you access to more songs and items to help your band progress.
There's also a multiplayer mode, in which you can play cooperatively with 2-5 other band leaders across devices, to give yourself the true anime band experience.
It's already fared well in Asia, scoring the rather odd "Google Play Best of 2017 – Grand Prize for Player’s Choice Game and Attractive Game" in Japan. If that doesn't get you interested, I don't know what will.
The gatcha system may make some folks nervous, but the lovely graphics, promise of co-op play, and the award-winning background of the game suggest this is worth the time of anyone who ever dreamed of having their own anime girl band.
