Ubisoft has slashed the price of its swashbuckling high seas piracy sim Assassin's Creed Pirates on the App Store, possibly using a cutlass of some description to do so.

So, you can now grab this cannon-firing, ship-weaving arcade blast for just £1.49 / $1.99. This is a pretty good deal if you're looking for some free-roaming ship-sinking action.

At review, we called the game "a big silly game full of repetitive combat and simple missions". We then added that "Assassin's Creed Pirates somehow still manages to be fun".

And now that that fun is cheaper than a reputable Sunday paper, you may as well grab it while you've got the chance. It's what the pirate inside you would want.
