Asphalt 5 HD at the iPad starting line
High-definition port of arcade racer set for iPad release
While Gameloft has kept quiet regarding its iPad launch line up, we can report that a high-definition release of Asphalt 5 will be at the starting line.
The game was a looker on iPhone, yet it's even more so on iPad if these first screenshots are any indication. Enhanced graphics top a list of enhancements pledged by Gameloft.
There doesn't seem to be any additional content offered in this iPad version; however, one of the three control schemes provided in the iPhone version has been reworked for iPad.
Accelerometer and touch controls (tapping the edges of the screen to steer) remain, but the virtual steering wheel has been reconfigured for the larger iPad display.
Multiplayer is also intact, with both local Bluetooth and online modes returning.
Asphalt 5 HD will be available for iPad on April 3 at a price of $6.99.
