Arena of Valor gains first million downloads in the U.S

The MOBA game, Arena of Valor, has just hit one million downloads in the U.S, as well as making three million dollars in revenue.

Developed by Tencent, the game came to the Western App Store and Google Play last December. But before that, it was released in China in 2015 where it was met with immediate popularity. Back in early 2017, the game had 200 million downloads and 70 million daily active users.

The western market has obviously not given the game the same massive response, but this is perhaps due to the release of Valor coinciding with the growing hype around battle royal games.

Arena of Valor is a MOBA in every sense of the term. It resembles League of Legends in its art style, there are lanes to try to push your minions through, an array of colourful characters to play, all with their own unique stats and abilities.

Although Arena of Valor's success in the West is not as impressive as its total domination in China, it's still a great achievement gaining 1 million downloads on the mobile stores. There is also a Switch port on the way, which might mean even more users in America and Europe.
