iPad launch will be games heavy

Statistics that Flurry Analytics has provided to AppleInsider shows that the majority of iPad apps currently being tested are games.

Pocket Gamer's bread and butter holds the lion's share of upcoming iPad apps, as games occupy an overwhelming 44 per cent chunk. Trailing along behind are Books at 14 per cent and Finance at 7 per cent.

Apple recently opened the floodgates by accepting iPad applications to the App Store. Applications submitted by March 27th that meet all of Apple's requirements should be ready for the iPad's launch in Late April (April 3rd for consumers in the United States).

If graphs and data are your thing, our sister site PocketGamer.biz has crunched the numbers and figured out a breakdown of announced iPad games by genre, origin, creator and country, revealing that the "average app will be port of an iPhone puzzler from [a] US indie studio."
