Benchmark reveals 'the new iPad' has 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz processor
Power to the masses
A couple of guys over in Vietnam have not only managed to lay their hands on Apple's new iPad, but they have also succeeded in benchmarking the A5X-powered blighter.
The results of the tests, which you can see for yourself below, 'confirm' that the new iPad has 1GB of RAM. This results in a Geekbench score of 756.
For those of you not in 'the know', Geekbench is a handy application that "provides a comprehensive set of benchmarks engineered to quickly and accurately measure processor and memory performance". Yeah, we didn't know, either.
Furthermore, Apple's new dual-core A5X processor was clocked at 1GHz during the tests, meaning the chip inside the Cupertino-based company's new slate runs at exactly the same clock speed as its predecessor's.
