Life and flights are fleeting. Sometimes, their ends coincide.

The maker of Any Landing understands this, and turns every air passenger's fiery nightmare into a gameplay point.

Any Landing is a sort of 'endless-flier', then, with Strange Flavour mixing bits of Tiny Wings with an obsessive focus on actual endings.

By landing your stricken plane well, your passengers will be satisfied or, at the very least, alive. You'll also receive a chunk of cash and upgrades for a successful landing.

By landing the plane poorly, you will cause death. As every pilot knows, this isn't the aim of the vast majority of flights.

There's the usual procession of coins and power-ups to nab as you tilt your way through the sky. You lean your iPad left to ascend and slow down, and you lean it right to descend and speed up.

It's not the most complex of games, sure, but there's a solid rhythm to the gameplay that makes trying again - at least for the first few times - a certainty.

There's a roughness around the edges of Any Landing, and you're never quite sure which of the various things you're trying to do - from demolishing buildings to nabbing cargo - is the one on which you should be focusing.

Still, the game's free, and the IAPs aren't too overbearing. So, if you fancy giving Any Landing a go, why not head on over to the App Store now and go for a flight.
