Let's skip the explanatory intro and get straight down to business.

Angry Birds HD - and don't even pretend you need us to explain what Angry Birds is - has just been given its first ever price cut, from £2.99 / $4.99 down to £1.49 / $1.99.

This iPad version of Angry Birds features 255 levels, with achievements and leaderboards supported courtesy of Game Center. Facebook and Twitter are also integrated, so if you do unlock something cool, why not tell the whole world?

Oh, and it also happens to be one of the most successful games in the history of the App Store. So there's that.

Angry Birds HD for iPad is available worldwide on the App Store, at a newly reduced price of £1.49 / $1.99 / €1.59.
