The iPad 2 has made huge leaps in terms of its processing power, according to the developer of Infinity Blade.

Talking to MTV Multiplayer, Chair Entertainment's creative director Donald Mustard claimed that the resolution of the new iPad (1024x768) alongside its much improved processing power results in games that are getting closer to looking like 360 or PS3 titles.

When asked how close Apple’s tablet is to those home console powerhouses, Mustard said it could be much sooner than he had envisioned even at the beginning of the year.

"A few months ago, my technical advisers were saying probably in the next 3 to 5 years, these handheld devices will pass or be equal to what we're currently seeing on the 360 or PS3,” he said, “now, looking at the iPad 2, it's probably within the next two years.”

Impressive stuff, but if Mustard changed his mind so in such a short period of time, who knows how quickly tablet tech could advance? MTV Multiplayer
