Rumour: Apple's iPad 2 delayed until June
|

The iPad 2 has already been tipped for release in February and then in April. If a note from Taiwanese brokerage Yuanta Securities is correct, Apple's tablet sequel will actually arrive in June.

According to Vincent Chen, Yuanta's head of downstream tech equities, “Our checks suggest new issues are being encountered with the new production process and it is taking time to resolve them."

This is due to Apple making design changes to the iPad 2 directly before Chinese New Year, which took place at the beginning of February. As to why Apple decided to make changes at this late stage, it's possible that the forthcoming generation of super-tablets has forced Cupertino to up its game.

According to the note, a delay of two months would result in the iPad 2 shipping 23 million units in the remainder of 2011, down from the original forecast of 30.6 million.

Apple's new tablet has attracted a lot of speculation, with previous rumours hinting at the removal of the iPad's home button, a screen displaying at twice the resolution of the current iPad, and two GPUs. Two cameras and a slimmer, lighter design are also expected.
