Baseball fans are a curious breed.

For every madly screaming Bleacher Creature, there's an equal number of quiet, statistically-minded strategists diving into the game's percentages and averages.

For these latter fans, Out of the Park Developments presents iOOTP Baseball 2013, its follow-up to the Bronze Award-winning iOOTP Baseball 2012.

Featuring real 2013 player rosters, this front office strategy sim challenges you to guide your team to victory as you set lineups and analyze depth charts.

Negotiate across the plate

Further, as your team's general manager, you'll be responsible for negotiating contracts, arranging trades, and promoting players up from the minor leagues.

Once your winning strategy is set, you can watch games unfold as a huge database of dialog brings the action alive.

For those less concerned with current rosters, iOOTP Baseball 2013 also allows you to manage your way through three historical seasons - 1901, 1902, or 2009 - to see if you have what it takes to alter the course of history.

This thinking-man's baseball sim is currently available on the App Store for $4.99 / £2.99.
