Game Name: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth | Developer: Nicalis | Format: iPhone, iPad, 3DS, PS Vita | Genre: Action, RPG
The creator of The Binding of Isaac has confirmed on his blog that his biblical adventure game will be remade for PS Vita, with an iOS version also a possibility.

Edmund McMillen - who also happens to be one half of Super Meat Boy developer Team Meat - explained that the new version of The Binding of Isaac will be a remake of the Flash original, and will boast a new 16-bit graphical style.

Nicalis, the team responsible for the 3DS versions of Cave Story and VVVVVV, will be handling the remake, which has been titled 'The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth'.

In addition to fresh visuals (concept art pictured above) in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Vita owners can look forward to a new ending; a pair of new playable characters; and a host of extra rooms, items, and enemies.

There will also be a local two-player mode, and some fresh music from Super Meat Boy composer Danny B.

Provided the Vita remake - which was hinted at back in March - is "not garbage", Nicalis may port The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth to iOS.

The team is even taking another run at getting the game approved for the 3DS, after Nintendo passed on the original due to "questionable religious content".

Nicalis expects to finish The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth by the end of 2013.
