| Tap Army

Tap Army puts you in control of your own little engine of war. An engine comprised of four Rambo-types ceaselessly marching forward, only stopping when their enemies have managed to overwhelm them.

It sounds kind of awesome, but it's not really as exciting as you'd think.

Get away from the chopper!

As your soldiers march ever-forward, enemies will approach from the top of the screen. You'll need to tap one of your recruits to have them shoot your aggressors, or tap and hold for sustained fire.

The entire point of Tap Army is to see how long you can last. Keep blasting those baddies without letting any reach your soldiers and you'll start to rack-up some real points. If so much as one soldier, helicopter, tank, or whatever else gets through, you're toast.

You'd think it would be easy enough to fire continuously and keep all the lanes clear, but sometimes bombs will show up and you really don't want to shoot those. So you'll have to use a lighter touch.

Tapped out

There is fun to be had with Tap Army, but it's fleeting.

As your nearly unstoppable force plows through the enemy ranks you might acquire fancy weapon power-ups like lasers or machine guns, which sounds neat. The thing is, they don't really do much aside from let you clear lanes a little faster and with a bit of visual flair.

Bosses (i.e. more durable enemies that jump between lanes) also make the occasional appearance, but they really don't change things up much.

And really that's the problem with Tap Army. You've seen about all there is to see after a couple of minutes.

That's not to say that you can't have fun gunning down the forces of (presumably) evil and going for the high score. Just don't expect much variety along the way.

Tap Army

Tap Army is a reasonably entertaining arcade survival game, but it runs out of tricks pretty fast
