Wanna get better at Super Mario Run? Here are some top tips to get you started.

General Tips

Tap in mid-air, while playing as Mario, to do a spin move. This gives you a little extra air and can also take out nearby enemies.

You can stall your jump by tapping the screen and dragging to the left. This is a good way to stop yourself falling into a death trap, or to guide your character into a coloured coin.

Need to go back? You can tap the bubble button to send Mario backwards. Just tap the screen to restart from that point. Note that you only get two bubbles per level, but you can sometimes find them inside ? blocks.

Pink coins are pretty much always visible to you, though they can be slightly hidden in ghost house levels. Purple and black coins, though, can be inside blocks so search every nook and cranny.

Time stops when you're on pause blocks so take as long as you need to wait for enemies to line up, or just to catch your breath.

Toad Rally

You can quit Toad Rallies if you're doing bad and you're worried you're going to lose Toads. You also won't lose a ticket so don't be afraid to bow out.

The following moves give you applause: consecutive wall jumps, jump while vaulting, jump while rolling (after a long drop), jumping while climbing, stomping multiple enemies in a row, and jumping through hoops of fire.

Coins are much more important than Toad applause in Toad Rally. Always try to be skilful and stylish but concentrate your efforts on collecting that cash: especially the coloured coins.

Defeating enemies increases their level, which boosts the number of coins you'll get each time you defeat that kind of enemy in Toad Rally. Use this info to beat your pals.

Look at the "Expected Crowd" to know what coloured Toads you are likely to win. Cross reference this with the shop screen to make sure you're getting Toads that you can spend on cool stuff.

Other tips

Look out for Bowser's jump! He'll crouch down before doing a big leap which can scupper your progress if you're in the middle of jumping over that big lizard. Use this info to avoid his spikes or, if you're sneaky, to run under his legs.
