Sit down for a second.

Yep, Sega and Double Fine have just confirmed that Ron Gilbert's The Cave will surface on the App Store on October 3rd.

You should know Gilbert as the designer of the much-loved Monkey Island and the more recent Silver Award-winning match-three puzzler Scurvy Scallywags.

With The Cave, Gilbert is returning to his adventure gaming roots, and with seven strong characters to boot. From that roster, you will have to pick a team of three, taking into consideration the varying abilities and personalities of each character.

Once you've chosen your squad, you'll go on a journey into the titular cavern to find atonement through the challenging puzzles within.

The Cave

The mobile version of The Cave will contain the same content as the 8-month-old console version, though Double Fine has added touchscreen controls to the iOS edition for ease of play.

Ron Gilbert's The Cave will retail for £2.99 / $4.99 on the App Store when it hits Apple's digital emporium on October 3rd.
