RAD Soldiers, the turn-based strategy game from the creators of Brink, is now available in the US and UK App Stores.

Published by Splash Damage's new digital distribution service WarChest, RAD Soldiers has been on limited release in Canada since July.

Now, having enjoyed positive feedback from RAD Soldiers players in the Great White North, Splash Damage has finally decided to take its colourful asynchronous multiplayer combat title global.

Given that RAD Soldiers comes from the same offices as the multiplayer-only console shooter Brink, it's no surprise to see it has a healthy focus on social warfare.

Starting with two soldiers, you earn currency - and the ability to acquire extra squadmates - by defeating opponents on the battlefield.

Viewed from a top-down perspective, these combat arenas facilitate grid-based movement, offer a cover mechanic, and can contain a diverse variety of objectives.

Friendly fire

While there are single-player challenges in RAD Soldiers, the game is really all about seeking out friends on Game Center and starting numerous micro-wars, which you can complete at your own pace.

Though RAD Soldiers does have some intimidatingly priced IAPs - you can pick up the "War Chest of RAD" for a sphincter-tightening £69.99 / $99.99 - we understand that players can earn enough currency in battle to see them through.

If you're the kind of person who thrives on alert notifications, download RAD Soldiers free for iPhone and iPad now.
