The AR horror Night Terrors: The Beginning goes free-to-play

Remember the AR game, Night Terrors: The Beginning, that came out last year? AppSpy video whiz, James, certainly does. It may not be Halloween yet, but there can still be updates.

Night Terrors: The Beginning is an augmented reality horror game which hijacks your iPhone/iPad camera and light, and turns your house into a haunted, nightmare palace.

Previously premium, the developer has updated its IAP model and made it free-to-play for the beginning segment. Its free introduction contains spooky music, a jump-scare, and an AR title overlay. Once you've played through the intro, you're lead to the IAP screen where you can either restore your previous purchase or pay to unlock Chapter One, which has since been slightly extended.

According to the developer, the game is open-ended, so there's no way to actually complete it. When your frequency bar doesn't max-out/activate anymore, the experience will be over until Chapter One is extended again in a future update.

If you fancy giving it a go, Night Terrors: The Beginning is available on the App Store.
