How to break out - Hellraid: The Escape chamber 5 walkthrough

Hellraid: The Escape is a dark and dingy puzzler, made by Shortbreak Studios to celebrate the upcoming Techland game, Hellraid.

While that next-gen game is a co-op slash-em-up, this is a more cerebral affair, with The Room-style puzzles littered throughout dungeons and torture chambers.

It can be tricky. So if you get stuck, consult this guide to find out exactly how to get through, and get out.

Oh, and in this guide we'll use the word "focus" a lot. That simply means to double tap on a section that is sparkling with gold to zoom in, so you can manipulate the environment.

Walk over to the alchemy stand, and drop crystals into the bowl. We need two blue crystals, three orange ones, and one green stone. Get it right, and the pile of gems will be added to your inventory.

Focus on the pot near the fireplace and pop the crystals into the cauldron. Then slide your finger up and down on the bellows to heat up the pot until it goes red. Do it enough times and you'll automatically get a speed potion.

There's a small pile of firewood to the right of the fireplace. Focus on it and drag the logs away to reveal a handle. Grab it.

Find this weird mechanism on the wall, and slot your handle into the plaque on the right side. You can now drag out the paddle, and carefully maneuverer it from the right to left while not touching the blue line of energy. Get it right and the door to your right will swing open.

Look through into the room with the minotaur and aim at the crumbling wall in the back corner. Drink your speed potion and run at that wall. The minotaur will kill you, but knock down the wall. Now brew another speed potion and run through the opening you just created.

(You can try to get the minotaur to smash the wall without also killing yourself, but it's tricky. This way requires you to do the annoying potion puzzle twice, but at least it's reliable).

Inside the room, focus on the small portal and then pinch it out with two fingers to make it bigger. Hop in and get ready for a reaction test.

In this portal you'll be attacked by flying skulls. Tap on them to destroy them, or you'll lose your health and die. Also, avoid tapping on candles or you'll also lose health. Stay alive and you'll pop out in another room.

Just to your right is a skeleton, near a pouch. Open it with one finger and tap on the key inside with another to grab it.

Use the key to open this chess board. You need to turn it counter clockwise for the lock to work.

Our job in this section is to beat the black piece. I have no idea how to place chess. Or even what the pieces are called. Hopefully this makes sense.

Move the rook up one space.

Move the rook up another space.

Move the rook to the bottom right corner of the board.

Move the rook one space to the left.

Move the queen one space to the right.

Move the rook to the top of the board.

Move the rook one space to the right to finish the match and grab the orange crystal.

Place the orange crystal in this stand, and then move it so the five crystals cover the five candles in the room. This will cause the door at the end to open. Walk through the door to finish the chamber.
