Elite: Dangerous companion app lets you fiddle with your spaceship outside of the game

David Braben's huge space adventure Elite: Dangerous doesn't come out until December 16th on PC, but it's got a companion app on iOS already.

It's about on par with most companion apps if the description is anything to go by.

"Access Starport Services, track your Pilot status and keep up to date with the latest Galnet news," it reads.

To translate, accessing Starport Services means you can buy and sell items at the traders, as well as change modules on your spaceship.

Galnet is simply the community-focused part of Elite: Dangerous where the latest news about the game is released.

You can download the Elite: Dangerous companion app for free on the App Store.

Let's hope that this isn't the be-all and end-all of Elite: Dangerous's visit to mobile gaming, as Braben once mentioned bringing a version of the game to mobile.
