Phil Hassey - who you might recognise from his work on Galcon or Dynamite Jack - has announced his next game, Breakfinity.

As the name implies, you'll be breaking things - bricks, namely - as you try to overcome a challenge that may or may not be infinite.

There's a clever catch to this brick-breaker, however - every fifth level has a boss for you to beat.

As an added challenge, Breakfinity features an auto-scrolling stage that can - and will - happily crush you if you don't break out fast enough.

Outside of the video below, we really don't know too much about Breakfinity other than the fact that the award-winning Phil Hassey is behind the project.

He's let us know that Breakfinity will hit the App Store on April 10, and will be "free to download" while offering in-app purchases.

Retro brick-breakers usually don't break (ha!) from convention all that often, so Breakfinity definitely looks like one to keep an eye on if you're a fan of Breakout-style games.
