A touching end to the story

iControlPad iPhone gaming peripheral rolls off production line

It’s been a long time coming (over two years and a redesign in fact), but the first iControlPad physical games controller has begun rolling off the production line.

The iControlPad is a peripheral that envelopes the iPhone in a rather fetching case containing controls like joysticks and buttons that our children will probably laugh while they play with their mind-controlled VR 3D games.

The device is made for jailbroken iPhone users wanting to replicate the physical controls on their favourite emulators. Sort of like the iDevice version of the recent Pandora console.

So far the peripheral is purely designed for the iPhone, but there should be support for other mobile models coming in the future.

Craig Rothwell, the man behind the device, isn’t yet taking orders, but he's expecting the first run of 3,000 models to sell out quickly.

While the price for one of the units has yet to be announced, you can keep track of its progress by checking the iControlPad blog.
