iAsteroids blasts onto iPhone 4

Humble Gaming has just unleashed a new title based on the classic arcade game of old, iAsteroids, onto iPhone 4.

It boasts plenty of bells and whistles to keep the current generation of gamers happy.

That means there’s the now obligatory RPG-like upgrade system with new equipment for your ship bought when you protect the various locations on Earth from being destroyed by the aforementioned space rocks.

Nine weapons, ranging from lasers to the good old fashioned nuclear bombs, will be available as you attempt to fight off asteroids, comets and meteors.

The graphics, too, have seen a major overhaul, bringing the rock-splitting gameplay kicking and screaming into a three dimensional playing field (complete with a fetching pink radar), and with full support for the iPhone 4's retina display.

Indeed, one significant element of the game is that because it relies on gyroscopic control, it's only available for iPhone 4.

iAsteroids is available from the App Store for £1.19 or $1.99, €1.59, but remember, it's only available for iPhone 4.
