Norwegian developer Tumbleweed Interactive has been talking about its whizzy-looking mobile racer eXfusion.

The game's been designed for next-gen handsets with OpenGL ES 2.0 technology inside – the downside of this being they won't be available until next year. Still, that gives the developer more time to tweak the game.

"The feel of the game is best described as a mix between the fast racing of F-Zero and the platformish style of [old DOS game] Skyroads," Håvard Christensen tells our sister site, PocketGamer.biz.

"This means we'll be focusing on racing and jumping from segment to segment rather than a weapon-style approach like WipEout has."

Although there's a chance Tumbleweed will be doing "something" for iPhone, the company is focusing mainly on OpenGL ES 2.0 phones, meaning eXfusion is down for a 2009 release date.

Christensen says the developer is hoping for a publishing or bundling deal, although they're open to the idea of self-publishing, too. For more on the company and its plans, check the full PG.biz Tumbleweed Interactive interview. But for a squizz at eXfusion in action, watch the video below:
