If you're a Wii or DS owner, you might already be aware of De Blob: it's a quirky action game due out later this year, which sees you rolling through towns as a big blob, picking up paint to turn the buildings all manner of colours.

Anyway, THQ Wireless is also doing a mobile version, which swaps the original's 3D visuals for a top-down perspective more suited to current mobile handsets. We got a hands-on go at Mobile World Congress yesterday, and the game is looking like it could be a riot.

Although simple on the surface – you roll through paint puddles to pick up colour, then bash into buildings to change their appearance – complexity is added by the ability to mix colours, while enemies are trying to stop your fun.

The game's due out later this year, and could be the perfect counterpart to the Wii version. From our hands-on test, we're certainly looking forward to spending more time with it.
