I'm the king of the castle, you're the dirty shambling corpse-man

ZombieSmash. If it weren't for the capital 'S', it would be impossible to tell whether that compound word brought together 'zombie' and 'smash' or 'zombies' and 'mash'. Not that it makes a difference. One zombie or many, mashing or smashing, it all means the same thing. Fun.

You play as Joey, the lone survivor of a zombie apocalypse fighting off the undead hordes. It's a castle defence game, and you repel the zombies by smashing them into the ground, flicking them into the sky, and picking up weapons and power-ups as you go.

Here's the blurb from developer Gamedoctors, modified for neutrality.

  • Physics, ragdoll animation, and proprietary SplatterEngine™ (for cartoon blood and gore) – optimized for all generations of hardware.
  • Campaign, Endless Siege, and Sandbox modes.
  • 20+ combinable weapons and specials at your disposal to rain destruction on mobs of flesh eating zombies
  • Built-in social features using Chillingo’s Crystal and Playhaven
  • Original soundtrack produced by famed game music composer Chris Hülsbeck, the musician behind the scores to classic games like Turrican, Giana Sisters, and the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series

ZombieSmash is out now, and it costs £1.19/$1.99. Look out for our review later today.
