It seems like a while since we first heard about the iPhone FPS, Zombie Mansion, but apparently it's going through the App Store approval process as we type.

The game will feature ten different kinds of monster, five levels, hidden goodies, nine types of weapons and, according to the official webpage, hours and hours of gameplay. Judging by the latest screenshots it's not all guns, either – evidently we'll be able to assail the undead with (Welsh accents at the ready) a pointed stick, too.

Zombies are pretty big business for the iPhone right now (the whole games industry, for that matter), so we're really looking forward to seeing what an FPS designed specifically for Apple's handset can do.

When Zombie Mansion was first announced back at the beginning of October, first person shooter news for the iPhone was pretty sparse, but this seems to be the genre to watch out for as Christmas approaches, so make sure you hit the 'Track It!' button for more coverage as we get it.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
