Android pinball wizards fortunate enough to own phones powered by NVIDIA Tegra will soon be able to get their hands on one of the PlayStation Network’s best games.

Developer Zen Studios has just unveiled the first screens and details of Zen Pinball THD, an improved version of the popular PS3 title.

The game will be available on Tegra Zone, the free Android Market app showcasing the most power-hungry titles. Those with the specs to run the game will find “a hyper-realistic, graphically-rich pinball gaming experience”, the developer claims.

The PlayStation 3 version of the game shipped with four tables, with a further six released as DLC. It’s unclear how many tables Zen Pinball THD will feature, though the developer will be demonstrating at least one, Sorcerer’s Lair, at this week’s Google I/O conference in San Francisco.

This isn’t the first time Zen's pinball franchise has appeared on mobile devices, with individual tables Zen Pinball: Rollercoaster and Zen Pinball: Inferno released on iOS back in 2008. They didn’t impress Pocket Gamer too much, earning scores of 6 and 5/10 respectively.

However, Zen Pinball THD should be a vast improvement if the PlayStation 3 game is anything to go by. The Android version will feature several play modes, achievements and leaderboard support, and some very impressive visuals.

No official release date has been announced, but we’re assured the game is coming “soon”.
