Our good buddies over at Appy Entertainment are always busy making their own iPhone apps, but still find the time to look around the developer community and chat with their competition and colleagues.

Recently the Appy team were chatting with actor Greg Grunberg (you might remember him from such TV shows as Heroes, Alias and I think he might have been flying the plane that crashed on the island in Lost, but don't quote me on that), who just launched his own iPhone studio.

"I like to think of myself as the William Shatner of my day. Kidding. But not really," Grunberg tells Appy with a cheeky grin.

So far Grunberg's development start-up has only been working on applications (specifically a shopping coupon aggregator called Yowzer!!), but the psychic copper is planning to put his fame to good use in promoting the increasingly popular app.

"The doors tend to fly open for the Mind Reading Cop from Heroes. But once we get past that, business is business. I must say, however, that it really does take a lot more these days than just creating an iPhone App. If you don’t have a strong marketing budget and plan to back it up, nobody is going to hear about it."

Yowza!! is currently only available in the US, but hopefully Parkman's mental clout will help push some hot new games onto the App Store. Personally, I think a Hiro spin-off game is a gold mine waiting to be discovered.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
