Role-playing, strategy, real-time action and tactical card-based combat. Here's a game that basically sounds like it has it all. In fact, if it would only consider adding in a bit of brain training and a few mini-games then it really would have it all.

The game in question is Yggdra Union, a name which could be familiar because it was released originally on the GBA. Today publisher Atlus announced the tough-to-pronounce title is making a comeback on PSP – remade and loaded with new content, difficulty levels, audio and visuals.

Yggdra Union promises to be different to anything else currently on PSP. That's mainly because of its melding of gameplay types and unique battling system, described as turn-based strategy meets real-time action. Players build up a deck of cards as they go, which enables them to pull off special attacks, while an adjustable aggression meter allows the adjustment of the power of attacks and the creation of troop unions in order to overwhelm the enemy.

This all sounds a bit heavy going, but the game's visual look is far from it. Instead it goes for an anime style, a bit similar looking to Advance Wars on DS.

Offering added replayability to the game are three different endings, plus one hidden ending, secret characters to unlock and treasure to find – a lot of which has been added for this new exclusive PSP release.

If it sounds like your thing (and with so much different gameplay then frankly it must) you'll be pleased to hear there's not too long to wait for its release, which is down as September 16th. That's just for the US at the moment, though. We'll keep you posted on its European equivalent.
